»I love the morning hours in the studio, when the world wakes up and reinvents itself — untouched and full of hope for the future.«

Meine Arbeit beginnt dort, wo Kontrolle endet.

My work begins where control ends.

Was darunter liegt, lädt ein.

I don't follow a plan — I follow an impulse. Color, material, and form guide me just as I guide them. In this symbiotic moment, when the exterior and the interior come into motion, something emerges that I could not have foreseen. That is exactly what I seek. Not the result — but the journey toward it.

My themes are not concepts that I impose on the work from the outside. Change, identity, transformation — they come from within me. Growing up in the former GDR, shaped by a system that demanded uniformity and left little room for colour, I sensed early on what it means when the inner and the outer do not align. The sudden upheaval of my youth left no answers — only questions. My art is my attempt to meet them — and myself.

In an intuitive layering process spanning several weeks, I apply pigments, inks, and epoxy resin — layer by layer, each dependent on the one before. Color enters into dialogue with texture. Material enters into dialogue with me. What emerges condenses emotions, memories, and energetic states into a visual language that I cannot fully explain — and do not wish to. The surface is visible. What lies beneath invites exploration.

I consciously avoid representational art. I trust in the dynamism of color, the transformation of form, and the poetic power of the material. My art is not a finished concept — it is a living process. A constant becoming. And that is precisely where I find fulfillment: when a harmonious moment emerges from a microscopic movement, a single brushstroke, or the flow of a color.

Nothing would bore me more than having arrived at a final destination in my artistic practice.

TECHNIQUE & PROCESS

Bianka Yetgin works with high-grade pigments, inks, and epoxy resin — in an intuitive, multi-week layering process. Each layer is applied, dried, sanded, and built upon. From this repetition, depth emerges — visible and tangible.
